We are looking for people who are committed to a belief in the power of arts and culture to change the world, people who have the capacity to support our brilliant, but small, team to produce some of the most groundbreaking theatre seen in the world today.

About Dead Centre:

Dead Centre was founded in 2012. We are Artistic Directors Bush Moukarzel and Ben Kidd and Producer Tilly Taylor.

We are based in Dublin and so far we have made work that has premiered in Dublin, Vienna, Berlin and Gothenburg. Our shows have toured throughout the world including to Germany, Netherlands, South Korea, USA, Hong Kong, China, Australia, France, Estonia, Holland, Romania, Italy, and throughout the UK.

We are indebted to a close team of collaborators who work with us on an ongoing basis – writers, technicians, inventors, designers and performers. We are able to make work because of the support of the Arts Council Ireland, Culture Ireland and Arts Council England.

Current Board members: Cian O’Brien, Artistic Director/CEO, Project Arts Centre (Chair), and Chelsea Morgan Hoffmann, Producer, Element Pictures.

About the role:

The Board of Directors meets three times per year plus the AGM. Board members are expected to contribute to the ongoing development and sustainability of the organisation and attend additional events where possible.

Dead Centre would welcome applications from people with the following skills and/or working in the following areas:

  • Arts, media and culture
  • Finance and governance
  • Strategic and digital communications
  • Legal expertise

We would also welcome applications from people who can contribute to our work in income development, fundraising and philanthropy but this is not an essential requirement.

Board Members will serve a 3-year term, renewable to a maximum of 6 years. This is a voluntary, unpaid position.

To apply we ask applicants to submit a comprehensive CV or biography (a statement outlining your roles, responsibilities and achievements in the organisations in which you currently and previously worked), along with a short statement outlining your interest in the role.

Please include details of any service as a Board Director, Trustee or any other voluntary/community work, but please note that no previous experience as a Board Director or Trustee is required.
