Words Ireland Literature Audience Development Programme
Words Ireland is calling for regional venues interested in participating in its Literature Audience Development programme in 2020
Words Ireland is seeking regional venues who are interested in participating in its Literature Audience Development programme in 2020. This involves the provision of a Literature Audience Development Officer (LADO) to venues. The LADO will help venues increase the quality and quantity their literature programme, and will work to grow literature audiences at a local level.
The LADO will act as a consultant to venues, coming up with great programming ideas, making first contact with writers, connecting the venue to local reading and writing groups, and identifying other stakeholders in the community that can support the literary arts at the venue in order to build audiences.
Participating venues will also become part of the Words Ireland touring network, still in its infancy, which aims to tour an increasing number of high-quality literary events, shows and initiatives. Words Ireland plans to develop a greater culture of literature production at a national level, aiming to increase the number of active producers, and connecting the ideas and initiative of producers with participating venues.
