Led by director Alice Coghlan, and inspired by her twelve years as an Abbey Theatre Literary Reader, Alice will guide you towards selecting the best material to adapt for the stage and screen. You will watch theatre and film adaptation online to understand the choices these writers made, and thus you as a writer of adaptations might make. You’ll begin this journey by writing short treatments for a new adaptation and scenes. Topics include theatricality, restructuring your story and creating theatrical characters your audience care about.
