Plein Air Charcoal/pastel Drawing With Cormac Dennis – Celebrating Heritage Week
Wed 17 Aug, 11am – 3:30pm | €30 | Age Group: Students/Adults
Join artist Cormac Dennis and explore expressive pastel techniques, charcoal and conte tonal drawing on the beautiful coastline of Clogherhead, Co. Louth. Working with pure colour and an emphasis on combining fast but accurate drawing, Cormac will demonstrate the benefits of working with hard and soft pastel. Giving one-to-one guidance if necessary, you will experience first-hand the rhythmic free flowing movements that he utilises for mark making. Believing that pastel is an ideal medium for the plein air artist, he will also share a wide range of materials and good practice for working outdoors.
You will need to bring your own painting materials of choice and a packed lunch. Light refreshments will be provided by Solstice Café. Further information and exact location will be emailed to participants closer to the date.
As this is an outdoor event, please wear clothing suitable for all weather types. If due to undesirable weather conditions or changes in Covid guidelines, this event is postponed, we will contact you with an alternative date.
