Woven Circus Collective At Spraoi 2018

Spraoi International Street Arts Festival in partnership with the Irish Street Arts, Circus and Spectacle Network  (ISACS) created the N.E.S.T. programme to assist street performance artists enhance an existing work-in-progress via mentoring and showcasing during the Spraoi Festival. N.E.S.T. creates supportive frameworks for participating artists, access to International festival directors and opportunities to perform and attend residencies in other countries.To participate in N.E.S.T 2019 Spraoi and ISACS invite interested artists to submit an expression of interest. This year’s programme will nurture street artists with a dance orientated work-in-progress OR dancers with a work-in-progress and a desire to perform in street settings.

We would love to hear from emerging professional artists with ideas. We appreciate you are busy people; we don’t require reams of paper, forms filled, nor needless boxes ticked. Simply tell us about yourself, your practice and the idea you and/or your colleagues have been working on for street or alternative performance settings.  Criteria for selection:

  • One to four person ground-based performances (We’re open to persuasion).
  • 15-25 minutes of material
  • Available to perform 2 – 4thAugust 2019 & participate in residential workshops from July 28
  • Current Member of ISACS*

  • Three Images/photos/sketches of the idea/work in progress
  • A 500 word description of the piece
  • Please title your email ‘NEST 2019’ in the subject line

N.E.S.T. Provides:

  • An opportunity to develop & showcase new work with the Spraoi Festival.
  • Supported performances at the festival with associated mixed-media promotion.
  • Residency with experienced Mentors for one week preceding Spraoi Festival.
  • Introductions to international artists and festival directors.
  • Dinner with artistic peers and colleagues hosted by the ISACS Network.
  • Travel and accommodation provided.
  • €500 bursary towards living expenses for week commencing July 28th.
