NOVEMBER 12TH – FROM THE SCENE TO THE SONG. (MAX AND KATELYN RESSLER ) ONE DAY ONLY. 10-5
(60 FOR THE DAY)
This workshop is for those people who have ever wondered why the song is often disconnected from the book in a musical and how to get around that. Of course the style of the show (what do the songs actually do?) is important. Do they explore the characters thoughts or comment on the action? Are they like a soliloquy/monologue to the audience? We are looking at a particular short song in a particular show, which you will need to bring learned. What we are going to be looking at is exploring tools from the Michael Chekhov technique to give you some tools to explore the trajectory from the book to the song effectively. Tutors are Max Hafler with guest tutor Katelyn Ressler.
