Chekhov, Voice and Shakespeare soliloquies (Marlowe and the Jacobeans allowed)
Shakespeare’s speeches radiate out to us. Each participant will bring a piece written by Shakespeare, Marlowe or the Jacobeans that they wish to work with. Working viscerally with the body and language and making the voice really organic and connected to the body, the group will explore using Michael Chekhov principles with the voice and how to make ‘a little piece of art’ with one speech thereby maximising the impact and the quality of your work. Tutor: Max Hafler : Max has been teaching theatre for two decades at NUI Galway, including Chekhov technique for the last nine years. His book Teaching Voice (Nick Hern Books) fuses Voice and Chekhov work. His new book, ‘What Country Friends is This?
