Fresh Street 3

The ISACS NetworkCircostradaARTCENA and Culture Ireland, in partnership with Galway 2020 European Capital of Culture are delighted to launch this open call for performances at FRESH STREET#3 – International Seminar for the Development of Street Arts.

Taking place May 22-24, 2019 in Galway, Ireland, FRESH STREET#3 will bring together artists, programmers, researchers, pedagogues, journalists, and policymakers from all over the globe for a multidimensional event focused on the development and promotion of street arts.

What counts as street arts? We define it as any performative work that takes place outdoors and in public—be it grounded in circus, dance, music, or any other live arts discipline.

Over 250 international delegates passionate about street arts will take part in panel discussions, workshops, professional exchanges, and exploration of the local context including a visit to the Aran Islands. Delegates will also experience a number of outstanding artistic performances to be curated from this open call. To get a feel for FRESH STREET, check outthis short video summary of last year’s event, held in Portugal.

FRESH STREET is a fantastic opportunity for artists to showcase their best work in front of hundreds of performing arts programmers and curators from nations around the world.

We are looking for live, outdoor performances in any discipline to suit the following contexts:

  1. 1. Opening performance at the National University of Ireland, Galway (May 22)
  2. 2. Two main programme performances that are site-specific, on the island of Inis Oírr (May 23)
  3. 3. Closing performance in the city of Galway (May 24)
