Join Amie Lawless and Emily Gillmor Murphy as they share insights about the Mentoring award available through the Arts and Disability Connect scheme. For one hour, there will be a presentation and a Q&A where we’ll leave plenty of time for people to ask questions.

The Arts and Disability Connect information sessions are for artists with disabilities who are applying for funding in round one andfor people who are supporting them to apply. Speech to text will be provided by MyClearText.

Emily Gillmor Murphy is a dyslexic Irish playwright, theatre maker and novelist.

For theatre Emily wrote A Boy Called Nedd (2014) which was shortlisted for The Stewart Parker Trust Award (2015), ALL TALK (2016), Monster? (2017), Her Fingernails (2017), The Boy With Scar (2018), The Horror Writer (2019) and Blind. Audio Horror Experience (2020). Her work has been directed by Ciaran Gallagher, Karl Shiels, Sandra Thompson-Quartey and Riccardo Sinibaldi and supported by Druid Theatre Company, Theatre Upstairs, Bitter Like a Lemon Theatre Company, Writers’s Avenue London Theatre Company and RTÉ Radio One.

Emily’s novels published by Random House include You and I (2012) and One Chance (2014).

In 2020 Emily was awarded an Arts and Disability Connect Mentoring award to research site-specificand immersive theatre work, with particular interest in audio work. Her mentor was dramaturg Pamela McQueen.
