The Gaiety School of Acting now invites applications for the position of Head of Voice.
The Head of Voice will be responsible for delivering all aspects of vocal training for both years of the school’s Full Time Actor Training Programme and across various aspects of vocal training within the school’s full programme of activity.
The Head of Voice will support the Gaiety School of Acting’s ambitions to give the actor a technical working knowledge and awareness of their own voice while supporting the development of their vocal potential to ensure they are prepared for a career in performance.
As Head of Voice, they will assist the Director in developing vocal ambition and curriculum, and assessments; ensuring that students meet the learning aims and objectives.
They will play an integral role in the learning experience offered to students. The candidate must demonstrate a proven track record of working with confidence across a broad and diverse range of repertoire and performance practice.
The role will work in line with Gaiety School of Acting’s ethos of ensuring that students receive the highest possible levels of teaching, guidance, and support. The role will maintain currency in education and the wider arts industry through continuing education activities and professional development.
The successful candidate will have at least 2 years experience in vocal training in a college or conservatoire setting and have completed a graduate degree in music, vocal performance or vocal pedagogy.
This permanent part time role is 17 hours per week spread across a minimum of 3 days per week and will commence for the next academic calendar year, September 2023.
