Role purpose:
We have an exciting and unique opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated, creative Events Manager to work in a team environment at Russborough House and Park. Maximising the potential of the house and 200 acre estate, the Events Manager will be responsible for all elements of the end to end management of events, including development of bespoke and novel ‘own brand’ events; assistance with sourcing and arranging site visits for Corporates; community events; logistics management, financial management and delivery.
This role is focused on our Income Generating Strategy. All activity contributes to the key objectives of partnership development, fundraised income and community participation.
He/She will ensure that all processes followed are robust, that our activity and time management is efficient and that attention is given to developing and growing our commercial activity.
Overall responsibilities will include
- Set clear objectives and targets for each event
- Develop new and exciting events to fill the Russborough Calendar
- Increase footfall to the Estate
- Work with sponsors to maximise revenue from each event
- Increase number of corporate events
Key areas of accountability and responsibility will include:
- End to End project management
- Communication with internal and external stakeholders
- Negotiation (Financial, Contractual, Sponsorship deals etc.) with suppliers
- Operational management of the event
- Logistical coordination of the event
- Event promotion
- Database management
- Accurate and timely data management to include post event feedback
- Maximise revenue per event and understand the overall contribution to revenue and P&L throughout event and for final budget reconciliation
- Recruiting and managing volunteers/casual event staff to support events
- Organisational knowledge and ability to cross sell where possible
- Identify opportunities to increase revenue: new products, additional services, improved services
- Onsite assistance for corporate events
- Financial and data reporting per event
- Additional duties as requested
Person Specification
It is expected that the successful candidate will have the following qualifications, experience and skillset:
Mandatory
- At least 5 years of relevant event management experience
- Highly organised, multi-tasker
- Excellent knowledge of Health & Safety regulations
- Excellent understanding of risk management
- Knowledge and experience of budget/cost management and contract management; including the ability to adhere to deadlines within budgetary levels.
- High level of attention to detail
- Ability to contribute effectively as a member of the senior management team
- Customer care excellence
- Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Flexibility and Ability to adapt
- Able to work well in a Team.
- Used to working under pressure
- Demonstrated leadership skills when managing project team
- Can-Do Attitude
- Self Starter and enjoys working on own initiative.
Desirable
- Significant knowledge of problem solving
- Administrative and office management experience.
- Excellent inter-personal communication skills, and the ability to build effective relationships with a variety of stakeholders, as demonstrated from prior experience
- Understanding the possibilities and limitations of historic buildings as they relate to event organisation and delivery
- Demonstrated ability to develop executive reports of the highest standards
